Launch of the Study
The Study was presented and discussed in the Third Committee of the General Assembly on 9 October 2006, with a , Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, and a , Assistant Secretary-General, Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women. The presentation in the Third Committee was accompanied by a , and an exhibit of posters from around the world to raise awareness about violence against women and strengthen commitment to end it.
