Key Messages from the Regional and Thematic Consultations

The regional and thematic consultations included virtual meetings at technical level with over 100 experts from governments and other multi-stakeholders from all world regions, a call for written inputs from Member States, as well as a call for multi-stakeholder inputs through the website of the Global Stocktaking. The regional and thematic consultations also drew on existing resources, such as the multi-stakeholder SDG 7 Technical Advisory Group convened by DESA, and other relevant international organisations and stakeholders.

The regional and thematic consultations focused on addressing the key questions raised for the Global Stocktaking:

  • How can ambitions be further increased and implementation be further accelerated?
  • How can multi-stakeholder partnerships be scaled up?
  • What will be the appropriate institutional arrangements for continuing to advance international cooperation on energy beyond the 缅北禁地Decade of Sustainable Energy for All?
  • DESA synthesized the inputs received through the regional and thematic consultations and distilled a set of key messages.
