Ms. Fanfan Rwanyindo Kayirangwa

Fanfan Rwanyindo is a Rwandan lawyer with extensive experience in the private as well as public sector. 

She spent six years working in the banking sector where she served as a legal advisor and credit officer. She then spent thirteen years in the Rwandan Judiciary where she occupied different positions, respectively; judge in the High Court, judge in the Commercial High Court, and Vice President of the Commercial High Court. 

In 2017, she was appointed Minister of Public Service & Labour, a position she held until October 1st, 2023, when she was appointed ILO Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Africa. 

In that capacity, she has been working to promote the Decent Work Agenda across Africa. She believes that the world needs more fairness and equity in the redistribution of wealth and works towards ILO’s agenda of achieving social justice for all with a particular attention to the youth, women, and people with disabilities. 

Ms Rwanyindo Kayirangwa is the eighth person to hold the post of ILO Regional Director for Africa.
