Monitoring and evaluation
Perhaps the most critical role OSAGI can play in supporting gender mainstreaming is through its assessment of, and reporting on, progress in different parts of the Secretariat, the regional commissions and the United Nations Offices in Geneva, Vienna and Nairobi and peace operation missions. The Special Adviser takes up gender mainstreaming in all missions to entities in the United Nations system and reports on progress to the Secretary-General. Progress reports are also prepared on the work of OSAGI to support gender mainstreaming. (See progress report in Gender Mainstreaming home page).
