UNAI START: South-South Cooperation and the 缅北禁地Development System

The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) is pleased to invite you to the panel discussion entitled?, to take place on Thursday, 25 April 2019 at?3:00 p.m. at United Nations Headquarters. This event is?organized in collaboration with the International Studies Association (ISA), as part of UNAI's?Skills and Technology Achieving Rapid Transformation?(START) series.

This discussion will focus on the role of the Global South in 缅北禁地development and 缅北禁地reform, revolving around three sets of questions:

Data Science: Challenges and Opportunities

Companies like Amazon and Walmart have millions of customer transactions every hour while Facebook has over 250 Petabytes of data added daily. As increasing amounts of data are available to businesses and science, there is tremendous potential for transforming policies, research, and society at large. Data engineers are tasked with transforming this information into formats that can be used for data science projects, making skilled data scientists and data engineering critical.

Join United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Hasso Plattner Institute for a discussion on the immense opportunities and challenges presented by our increasingly data-driven society, the value that can be gained from data that is well-prepared and the dangers of data when misapplied.

The?United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), the American Association of University Women, the United Nations Environment Programme and UNAI member institution Lehigh University (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, United States) reminds that the registration for the Students Seeking Solutions Conference: SDG 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation Challenge will close on 13 April. The event will take place in the Conference Room 2 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Around the world, poor water management, waste dumping and the unsafe practice of open defecation are among the numerous causes to negatively impact food security, livelihood choices and educational opportunities for poor families across the world. According to United Nations Development Programme, water scarcity affects more than 40 percent of people around the world, an alarming figure that is projected to increase with the rise of global temperatures as a result of climate change.

UNAI Panel Discussion on Unlearning Intolerance: Women in Mainstream Media

The United Nations Academic Impact presents a two-part panel discussion on Unlearning Intolerance: Women in Mainstream Media that will take place on Tuesday, 27 March 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Conference Room 8 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event--which will be webcast to viewers outside Headquarters—will mark the launch of a new report on women in the media.

The discussion will be moderated by Ramu Damodaran, Chief of UNAI. The panelists will include Roland Schatz, Founder of Media Tenor International, Rachel Lloyd, Founder and President of Girls Educational and Mentoring Service, Susan Farkas, President of Farkas Media and Senior Adjunct Faculty at City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism and Yasmine Besen-Cassino, Professor of Sociology at Montclair State University, among other guests.??

Unlearning Intolerance seminar

The terror attack in Paris reminded the world how vulnerable we are - unless we find resilient ways to unlearn intolerance. In 2015, the 缅北禁地commemorates its 70th Anniversary. This?enriching UNAI Masterclass emphasized ?how Unlearning Intolerance became the leitmotiv to overcome stereotypical driven perceptions and politics.
